How deep is the River Hudson where the plane went in?

Perhaps our American friends would take pity on a curious Brit. I have followed the story of the plane crash with interest, and much admiration of the pilot. I can't find any information on the internet or in our many newspapers here as to how deep the Hudson is at the area the plane went in. Anybody either know how deep, or else where I can find out?|||The River Hudson's depth at the point in question is actually between 30 and 50 feet deep. The river bottom is very muddy and murky and no actual measurement was taken due both to this and the fact that it was not an important factor relative to getting all the passengers away safely. Due to the river currents the bottom is not conveniently cut out to present a flat image. It is very rutted and dips irregularly; because the plane has a lengthy fuselage and broad wingspan a definitive depth of the water becomes difficult because there is not a sole point of measurement.|||My question is , are they going to make a movie about the Hudson Flight 1549, The Miracle on the Hudson, I heard that Tom Cruise was going to play the Captain.

I thought some fitting websites for the movie would be either www.hudson1549.com or www.thehudsonflight.com

|||I think fairly deep, that is the area a lot of the cruise ships dock. Also not too far from the 911 site. Go on the Internet and type in Hudson River, New York City. I am also a Brit, now living in Canada. Hope this helps.|||Why is it important to know how deep the river is? I would like to know how many fish were squashed when the plane hit the water......|||Exactly 54 feet. This doesn't count the mud and sediment lining the riverbed, of course.|||Umm probably 20 meters deep?|||Not sure Steffi` Do you know any Germans? i am sure i saw some sun loungers` when they showed it on tv x
