What are the chances a plane flight goes wrong?

My dad is going on a plane to another state and I'm afraid if something goes wrong such as a terrorist/bomber, crash, etc.

What are the chances something will go wrong?|||0.000000000000000000000000001% chance|||much much safer than just going about your day on the road. Some of the moronic drivers out there are much more of a risk than a flight. Air traffic is properly controlled and the pilots are skillfully trained. Anything could happen to anyone at any time, the best thing you can do is not worry, and if you pray, or believe in that, you could do that, too.

Have confidence that he'll be ok, which he will. :)|||Considerably less than his chances of getting into a car crash on the way to the airport. There are about 28,000 flights every day in the US. It's not news when they all get there safely, because they always do.|||So insignificant you don't even need to ask this. More people are killed on donkeys each year than with that. Also, air travel is the safest way to travel. Go on with confidence!|||You're safer on a commercial airliner than in your own house. More people die of house collapse eat year than in airplane crashes.|||The chance of being killed in a crash of a regularly-scheduled flight with a major airline (not code-share) in the U.S. is about one in 53,000,000.
