How much would a plane ticket from Australia to the US cost?

A good friend of mine lives in Australia, and he needs to get here to visit family. He wants to know how much a plane ticket would cost from there to here? Please help? I'm asking for him because he doesn't have a computer at the moment. Thanks.|||Qantas, United and Delta were having a sale from Sydney to Los Angeles $299 one-way. I would check the airline websites such as Qantas, United, Delta. It also depends on what city your friend will be arriving at and when your friend plans to fly.|||I'd love to help but you definitely need to provide more details.... what city is he leaving from? Where is the US is he coming to??|||i also think you need to provide us a little more info. But average cost like $ 290 one way or $ 530 two ways|||More details are needed. Cost depends on more than the airlines and destinations. Obviously it can vary from one airline to the next but it also depends on the dates of travel, the time of day for planned departures, number of stops, and type of seating.

Start researching various sites now and keep track of your research (flight numbers, departure dates, times %26amp; cities, connecting cities, and price...I used an excel spreadsheet) to compare rates on a weekly basis. Check back once a week. I saved myself more than $250 by doing research and waiting. Prices dropped drastically over 2 weeks time.

Try researching the various airlines websites as well as the following sites:

Expedia.com

AAA.com

Travelocity.com

There are many more but these are the ones I found the most competitive. Be sue though to also read up on their policies regarding change or cancellation of reservation.

The three mentioned above will help get flights with mixed airlines for the best price.

Also note: Delta just changed their baggage policy for international travel. It's important to check up on the chosen airlines baggage policy as well as the TSA for what types of stuff one can travel with. Here's the site: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/p鈥?/a>

I speak from experience....just recently booked some flights for myself.

Best of luck.
