I will be traveling from the US to Japan, changing plane in between at Vancouver. I am not a citizen of the US, but I hold a permanent resident card of the US, do I need a visa just to change plane in Vancouver? Do I need to go through immigration in Canada?|||Permanent Residents of the US do not require visas to visa OR transit through Canada. Just make sure that you have your Permanent Resident card and your passport and you will be fine.
As for immigration. You'll just go through the same customs/immigration thing, but just let them know that you are transiting and don't forget to present them with your valid permanent resident card and passport.
Happy travels!
