Is it worth it to buy a plane ticket and hotel together in a package deal?

Usually when I travel I buy my plane ticket separate from my hotel. Since there are so many websites that offer packages, for plane ticket and hotel together, I was wondering if it's worth it? Anyone with experience on booking packages? How was the experience?|||Sometimes, it's cheaper to book both together and other times it isn't. I always compare the package price with the separate price for the flight %26amp; hotel using hotel booking sites I like. It's often cheaper to book separately even though you're looking at the same hotel on the same dates. However, occassionally, I find that the package beats the separate prices.|||it's not really a deal. i work at a hotel and i see the rates that people pay for hotel rooms and honestly it ain't any cheaper. even though you may see the reg price for the hotel room starting at example..130.00 when u book through .com sites you would be paying 119.00 but other guest who know how to use discounts like aaa or aarp sometimes pays less then you. i can't speak for the airline tickets. i hope this helps. if your dates are flexable try calling to see what the rates on sun though thurs and then weekend rates. depending on the hotel some place are business income hotels so it means that on weekends the rates drop in order to fill the hotel. some hotels that are in a more leisure area would charge more on weekends and less on weekdays. oh, and hampton inn's offer a 100% satisfaction guaranteed so if your not happy with your room for any reason they have to comp you for the night. fyi...|||This is better for you to book a package because the price is really worth! Good luck!|||Don't try that. Usually they loot u in either of one deal. Try travel with expedia or other reliable site and hotel booking with hotel site. Its always cheap from hotel site.
